How do you know Davy?
I met Davy through family and working in wine. Highlights include a trip to Cape Wine in South Africa together, visiting Montes Winery in Chile and then skiing in the Andes.

Cycling History – I started cycling young and spent most of my teenage years starting everyday by riding my bike to do my paper round. When I moved to London I got my first road bike and commuted on it for years before getting into sportive. Since moving back to Edinburgh, I’ve kept fit and sane, cycling around the incredible roads around Edinburgh, particularly out to East Lothian. .

Funniest Cycling story – Toss up between my ride to Crieff from Edinburgh in the midst of storm Ciara using in-ear navigation (because I didn’t know the route and knew my hands would go numb anyhow) and showing off riding with no hands skills when 12 to impress some girls. The former ended with me freezing in a café near Stirling having got the route wrong and been beaten back by the snow wind and rain, the latter had me ride into the back of a van when I tried to hit the brakes and found out they didn’t work that well in the rain!....both times I laughed and cried which is prob good prep for the NC500! .

Fav cycling snack – It’s a toss up between the macaroni cheese pies on the Tour o the borders and anything from @veloforte. I think I’m more likely to have plenty gear from @velofortestuffed into my pockets on the ride than macaroni cheese pies.

Thoughts on the ride – Bonkers and Incredible. I’ve done 4 day rides before, particularly with a great gang through @gammatd in Stockbridge. The route we usually do includes some of the NC500, including the Bealach na Ba and the Applecross section to Torridon. But we usually do that over 1 day, and the rides include long lunches and large dinners with plentiful wine, rather than 125 miles average each day. I’m apprehensive and excited. It feels a privilege to be taking part, inspired by Davy, and to raise money for a brilliant charity.
